LEARNING ABOUT SEEDS AND THE MANY USES

Summer's Poppy (William) spoke to us about different seeds.

He showed us the different products that are made from the seeds.

 The seeds.

The caterpillars we need to keep an eye out for.

What makes me,me!

The children have been learning about what makes each of us special. All their photos were placed in the middle, we discussed what features are different and how? As a group the children recognised we have different shaped faces, eyes, hair colour and style, smiles and we talk differently. The next step was to connect features that are similar.

This was a great oral language activity for the children to connect their ideas to their learning and to understand how we are all connected by different features.

As we worked through each of our photos the children were able to label features and discuss how each of us are connected. At the end of the oral activity the children were using sentences such as " I have blue eyes like .... but I have brown hair like ..... " lots of verbal interaction to express their ideas and opinions of how we are similar and different and how special each of us are in our community.

A BUTTERFLY OR MOTH?

Miss De Monte brought in a bug today which she found laying on the floor of her garage.

Is it a butterfly or a moth?

We were not sure SO we asked Google to help us find out the answer.

After reading and learning about the different facts of butterfly's and moths we arrived at an answer.........it was a MOTH!

GOD MADE v MAN MADE

Over the past couple of weeks we have learnt about the Creation story (Genesis 1: 1-31, 2: 1-4)

Our learning then explored the difference between GOD MADE and MAN MADE.
We took photos using the iPods of man made things from around our school.
